This is a piece that I built around 8 years ago and recently refinished. It remains one of my favorites and I am proud of it.

The legs are bent laminated strips of Alder wood with 2 strips of Yew wood in the lay up. The stretchers are all mortised into the legs on curved compound mitred angles. They are glued and pinned with single brass rod pins. This type of construction is extremely ridgid and long lasting.

The top was a solid Broad Leaf Maple burl slice, cut into 3 pieces for the folding top. The finish is a high grade polyurethane.

Commissioned and built for Mare Bruce at the Schooner Restaurant in Tofino. Thanks Mare!
