Broad Leaf Maple bowl. 18" long X 4" deep X 8"wide. Finished with Tung Oil and Bees Wax. Buffed with carnuba wax.
This bowl was turned on 3 different centres to hollow out the insides perfectly round. The outside was hand carved and sanded to bring round form to the overall piece. There is a beautiful natural wave on the outside edge that I tried to preserve untouched. I carved this piece to what I thought would be finished 3 times before I was happy with the balance and look of it. Each time going back and taking off another layer of bulk and refining the shape.
